The Opportunity:
We are partnering with a leading international technology business to appoint an Interim Commercial Contracts Solicitor on an initial 8-week assignment. This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded lawyer who is confident operating in a fast-paced environment and can quickly add value from day one. The successful candidate will support the business with the review, drafting and negotiation of a wide range of commercial agreements, whilst providing pragmatic legal advice to stakeholders across the organisation.
The team is looking for someone who is particularly strong on commercial contract negotiations and can confidently navigate complex contractual provisions, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of commercial contracts and agreements.
- Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights, obligations and risk.
- Lead negotiations on key commercial terms with customers, suppliers and business partners.
- Identify and mitigate legal and commercial risks within contractual arrangements.
- Provide practical, commercially focused legal advice to support business objectives.
- Review and advise on provisions relating to liability, indemnities, warranties, service levels, termination rights and other key contractual terms.
- Support procurement, supplier and customer contracting activities.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to ensure contracts align with operational and commercial requirements.
- Assist with ad hoc commercial legal matters as required.
About You:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales.
- 1-5 years' PQE.
- Strong experience in commercial contracts gained either in private practice or in-house.
- Excellent understanding of contract law and commercial risk management.
- Highly confident negotiating and advising on complex contractual provisions.
- Commercially astute, pragmatic and solutions-focused.
- Able to work independently and manage a busy workload with minimal supervision.
- Experience within technology, software, SaaS, fintech or other fast-paced commercial sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Available to start immediately or at short notice.
