We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Financial Controller to join our growing construction company.
This is a key role within a Managing Director-led business, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance function while providing accurate financial reporting, cash flow management and commercial insight to support business growth.
Working closely with the Founder and Accountant, you will take ownership of financial operations across all construction projects and broader business activities.
You will ensure financial controls are in place, maintain accurate financial information and provide meaningful reporting that supports effective decision-making.
This role offers the opportunity to become a key member of the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and financial performance reports.
Produce project-specific financial reporting, including cost tracking and profitability analysis.
Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying risks and opportunities.
Prepare cash flow forecasts and oversee cash management across multiple projects and entities.
Develop, maintain and improve financial controls, systems and processes.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions.
Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Manage month-end close processes.
Prepare and review VAT returns, CIS reporting and other statutory requirements.
Coordinate with the accountant on year-end accounts, corporation tax and audit requirements.
Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting obligations.
Leadership however, candidates with equivalent experience will also be considered.
