As the Product Owner, you will play a crucial role in defining, refining, and executing their product vision and roadmap, ensuring the platform remains at the forefront of the industry.

The Role

As a Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in defining, refining, and executing our eCommerce product strategy. Working closely with senior leadership, engineering, and stakeholders, you will ensure our Shopify-based platform delivers best-in-class experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining & Refining Product Vision and Strategy
  • Work with senior management and stakeholders to define and refine product objectives, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Utilize market insights, analytics, and user feedback to continuously evolve the product vision.
  • Maintain a clear, strategic product roadmap that prioritizes value-driven enhancements.
  • Oversee the intake, triage, and assessment of product change requests and new requirements.
  • Lead backlog refinement sessions, ensuring features are appropriately prioritized based on business impact.
  • Keep the roadmap up to date, removing completed or obsolete items while maintaining transparency with stakeholders.
  • Create clear documentation and assets that communicate roadmap items effectively to stakeholders and engineering teams.
  • Roadmap Execution & Agile Delivery
    • Break down roadmap items into epics and user stories, ensuring clarity and alignment with development goals.
    • Maintain and prioritize work in Jira, ensuring sprints are structured for maximum efficiency and impact.
    • Work closely with the engineering team, answering questions, resolving blockers, and ensuring smooth development cycles.
    • Lead and participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and demos.
    • Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and contribute to QA efforts, ensuring high-quality releases.
    • Maintain detailed documentation for complex functionality to minimize errors and inefficiencies in future iterations.
  • Evaluating Success & Continuous Improvement
    • Define and track key product-related metrics, ensuring visibility into product performance.
    • Regularly assess metrics against the original vision and objectives, identifying areas for improvement.
    • Use insights from data to inform roadmap adjustments and optimize future product decisions.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    • 5+ years of experience as a Product Owner in a B2C eCommerce environment.
    • Strong technical understanding of web development, PHP, APIs, RDBMS, AWS, and frontend-backend interactions to effectively collaborate with engineers.
    • Expertise in Scrum and Kanban, with substantial hands-on experience in both methodologies.
    • Extensive experience working with Shopify, including customizing and extending its capabilities to meet business needs.
    • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, and Figma, with experience managing documentation and product assets.
    • A track record of successfully delivering Shopify-related software development projects in an eCommerce setting.
    • Experience in a startup environment, with a hands-on approach and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving business.
