We are seeking an experienced Insurance Account Executive to take over and manage an established client book within a specialist insurance brokerage. This role requires someone who is already comfortable operating with autonomy, managing client relationships, leading renewals, and placing business independently.
You will act as the primary relationship owner for your portfolio, providing technical advice, handling renewals end-to-end, and ensuring clients receive a high standard of ongoing service. The client base includes complex commercial risks and high-value portfolios, requiring attention to detail, strong market knowledge, and confidence dealing with insurers and underwriters.
Key Responsibilities:- Take full ownership of an existing client book, managing relationships and service delivery end-to-end
- Lead renewals independently, including market engagement, placement strategy, and negotiation
- Advise clients on cover structure, policy wordings, and risk considerations
- Build long-term client relationships through a consultative, professional approach
- Liaise directly with insurers and underwriters to secure competitive and appropriate terms
- Identify opportunities to grow the book through cross-selling and portfolio development
- Ensure FCA compliance, accurate documentation, and timely administration
- Work closely with internal support teams to deliver a seamless client experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in an insurance broking or account executive role
- Proven experience managing and owning a client book (essential)
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products
- Confident dealing with clients, insurers, and underwriters independently
- Organised, commercially aware, and comfortable managing multiple renewals
- Professional insurance qualifications (Cert CII / working towards) advantageous
- Salary of £40k-£55k, depending on experience
- Immediate responsibility for a live, established client portfolio
