We're working on a search for a Mobile Product Owner on behalf of a well-established UK regulated organisation with a genuinely mission-led purpose
This is a newly shaped role sitting within a growing Customer Experience function, at a business investing heavily in transforming how it serves its customers through digital channels.
The role
As Mobile Product Owner, you'll be the "landlord" of the member mobile app accountable for its build, run and long-term integrity, while product teams across the business act as "tenants" bringing new features and ideas. It's an enabling role, not a gatekeeping one: success looks like product teams moving fast, a coherent experience across every journey, and a platform that scales as the wider proposition grows.
You’ll own the mobile roadmap and standards, working closely with Service Design, Web Product, Marketing and Propositions colleagues, and will manage a dedicated delivery team via a strategic third-party development partner.
What you’ll be doing
- Defining and owning the member mobile product roadmap
- Translating customer insight into intuitive, high-impact mobile features (push notifications, personalised engagement and more)
- Setting and tracking KPIs across activation, engagement, retention and feature adoption
- Owning platform standards — information architecture, navigation, interaction design, performance and accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA)
- Reviewing and approving mobile implementations from other product teams before release
- Managing and holding an outsourced delivery partner to account on quality and governance
- Owning the mobile analytics and measurement framework
What we’re looking for
- Strong track record in digital product ownership, platform management or digital experience design, with real depth in building and scaling mobile apps
- Evidence of growing engagement and adoption in a consumer-facing mobile product
- Comfortable managing or heavily influencing an outsourced delivery partner
- Confident with mobile analytics and optimisation tools (e.g. Contentsquare, Google Analytics, Kameleoon) and roadmap tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Monday.com)
- Familiarity with design tools such as Figma, Adobe or Miro
- Working understanding of HTML/CSS; hands‑on coding experience a plus
- Strong grasp of web accessibility standards
- Experience gained within a regulated or complex service environment (e.g. pensions, insurance, financial services) is essential, or the ability to demonstrate closely transferable experience
- A strategic, curious mindset — someone who leads through influence, builds trust easily, and is genuinely energised by solving complex customer problems
