The Pipe Mills at Liberty Pipes Hartlepool are the UK’s largest steel pipe mills, manufacturing heavy duty steel pipe primarily for the energy and construction industries both in the UK and worldwide. Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced NDT Technician based at Hartlepool and reporting to the Section Manager, NDT (Operations). The primary purpose of this role is to deliver Non-Destructive Testing services by conducting inspection and testing of steel pipes in accordance with our procedures and industry standards (ISO 9712) to meet our contractual obligations in line with customer expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Apply multiple scientific principles to identify sub surface flaws or repetitive indications in steel pipes.
  • Carry out non-destructive testing methods including ultrasonics, radiography and magnetic particle inspection, as well as visual and dimensional inspections.
  • Use materials, equipment, tools, processes and products relating to NDT.
  • Perform calibration checks and periodic maintenance on NDT equipment.
  • Complete relevant documentation / computer data entry / ad-hoc reports as required.
  • Liaise with client inspection teams.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Qualified to a minimum NDT level II in accordance with ISO 9712 (PCN / CSWIP).
  • Applicants qualified primarily in radiography or ultrasonics with at least one other NDT inspection discipline (MPI / Dye Pen) will be considered, as will applicants with CSWIP Weld inspection qualifications.
  • Working alongside the production team you will be qualified to international standards and ensure that the product meets our customers’ requirements by performing agreed inspection and testing processes.
