About the Role:

This role will establish and implement consistent workflows, policies, and procedures for Surety across the International offices. It will also involve guiding and training underwriting support staff while monitoring operational and quality standards. Additionally, this position has the potential to evolve into a leadership role, offering a clear career progression path.

About the Department & Team:

Liberty Mutual Surety is the leading global surety provider. In the US, we have a team of underwriting assistants and 17 managers. We are establishing a similar organization internationally that offers robust underwriting support in collaboration with brokers to ensure exceptional service delivery.There are 50 International underwriting assistants. Our team promotes an open and collaborative work environment where individuals are encouraged to ask questions and seek guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

·Research and Analysis: Conduct research to understand best practices, regulatory requirements, and industry standards relevant to policy development.

·Drafting Policies: Write clear, concise, and comprehensive policies and procedures that align with organizational goals and compliance requirements.

·Training and Support: Develop and deliver training programs to educate staff about new or revised policies and procedures.

·Communication: Effectively communicate changes in policies to all relevant parties and ensure understanding and compliance.

·Review and Revise: Regularly review existing policies and procedures to ensure they remain relevant and effective, making revisions as needed.

·Best Practices: Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in policy development and management.

·Reporting: Prepare reports for senior management on the status of policy initiatives, compliance, and any issues that arise.

·Compliance Monitoring: Establish methods for monitoring adherence to policies and procedures and identify areas of non-compliance or improvement.

·Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set outin the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM\’s commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity.LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times. These requirements include the Senior Managers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules ,Solvency II, fair treatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflicts of Interest, and Whistleblowing

Skills and Experience:

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
  • Analytical skills – critical thinking and problem solving
  • Surety experience desired but not required
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and engage stakeholders throughout the policy development process
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
