Liberty Mutual Reinsurance (LM Re) is seeking an experienced Portfolio Management Officer to join our Transformation Execution team. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of strategic transformation initiatives across our reinsurance operations. Reporting to the Head of Transformation Execution, you will provide essential PMO services to ensure successful programme delivery through robust governance, planning, reporting and stakeholder management.
The Transformation Execution team sits within the Transformation & Change Delivery in LM Re and is responsible for driving strategic change initiatives across Liberty Mutual Reinsurance. Our team works collaboratively to deliver complex transformation programmes that enhance our operational capabilities and support our commitment to putting customers at the centre of our business.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver core PMO services including governance frameworks, RAID management, change control, and document management.
- Support the establishment and maintenance of programme governance structures and reporting frameworks.
- Facilitate stage gate reviews and ensure adherence to delivery standards and quality gates.
- Manage programme dependencies and interdependencies to prevent delivery impact.
- Coordinate activities across multiple project teams and workstreams.
- Support resource planning, forecasting, and onboarding/offboarding processes.
- Collaborate with delivery leads, product owners and delivery teams to track progress against objectives.
- Facilitate quarterly planning sessions and milestone reviews.
- Maintain comprehensive risk and issue logs with regular updates and escalation protocols.
- Monitor programme health through defined metrics and KPIs.
- Identify potential risks and dependencies early, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies.
- Support delivery assurance activities and compliance with internal frameworks.
- Produce high-quality reports and presentations for diverse stakeholder groups.
- Support stakeholder engagement across internal teams and external partners.
- Adapt communication styles for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to manage and lead individuals within the Portfolio Office as the office scales.
- Develop and maintain project management processes, procedures, tools, and templates.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement improvements.
- Support the adoption of best practice PMO methodologies and standards.
- Contribute to the development of PMO capabilities and service offerings.

Skills and Experience- Proven experience in a PMO role supporting complex transformation programmes or projects.
- Strong knowledge of PMO disciplines including RAID management, change control, governance, and document management.
- Experience with project management methodologies, tooling and frameworks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with ability to influence across all levels.
- Strong analytical skills with experience using dashboards and data visualization tools.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Comfortable managing ambiguity and adapting to changing priorities.
- Experience supporting financial and resource management processes.
- Experience within financial services, insurance, or reinsurance industry.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scaled Agile Framework methodologies.
- PMO-related qualifications (e.g., P3O, MoP) or project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, PMP).
- Experience with project management tools such as Jira, MS Project, Shibumi or similar.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements within financial services.
- Experience working in a global, matrix organization.
