About the Role: Working with the Lead Analytics Engineer, this role is responsible for delivering data analytics solutions that support organisational goals and business priorities. This role works closely with senior stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable data solutions and supports data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver data analytics solutions aligned with organizational goals and business priorities.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions and advocate for data-driven decision-making.
- Provide consultancy and analysis services on projects, identifying opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
- Support best practices in data management, modelling, and analytics, and contribute to the adoption of new tools, methodologies, and emerging technologies.
- Assist in the assessment, planning, and coordination of changes to data warehouse and analytics platforms, working with product owners and technical teams.
- Identify, log, and help resolve issues and bugs, ensuring robust documentation and communication for effective analysis and resolution.
- Monitor and report progress, risks, blockers, and achievements to key stakeholders, supporting transparency and informed decision-making.
Skills and Experience:
- Data Expertise: Proficient in data analysis, reconciliation, and testing methodologies, with a solid understanding of database design, data modelling, and data governance best practices.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in T-SQL, Excel (including Power Query, Power Pivot, and VBA), skilled with ETL tools such as SSIS and Alteryx, and experience with Power BI, DAX, and other business intelligence platforms.
- Project & Change Management: Experience supporting analytics projects, managing competing priorities, and delivering high-quality outputs within challenging timeframes.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communicator, able to translate complex data insights for technical and non-technical audiences and build trusted relationships with stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Effective collaborator across business, technical, and support functions, driving alignment and shared outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Proactive in identifying opportunities for innovation, process optimization, and adoption of emerging analytics tools and methodologies.
- Regulatory & Compliance Awareness: Knowledge of regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, Data Protection, Financial Crime) and a commitment to upholding high standards of compliance and ethical conduct.
- Insurance Industry Acumen: Experience in the insurance sector is desirable, with an understanding of actuarial, finance, and operational data needs.
- Agile Ways of Working: Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience applying them to analytics and data projects.
