This role is pivotal in embedding underwriting excellence across products and geographies while supporting the CUO's mandate to deliver a high‑quality portfolio.
Key Responsibilities

- Underwriting Oversight & Peer Review: Develop and lead the underwriting file review and post-bind peer review process. Identify process gaps or inconsistencies and work with underwriters and management to close them, both pre-bind and post-bind. Monitor adherence to pricing tools, appetite guides, and referral protocols.
- Change & Implementation: Work with Underwriting, Finance, Actuarial, Risk, MI, and Operations to ensure governance requirements are embedded in systems and workflows. Support rollout and embedding of new underwriting tools, templates, or risk appetite changes.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, Finance, Actuarial, Operations and GRS Office of Underwriting to ensure alignment between underwriting practices, regulatory requirements, and the enterprise risk framework. Act as a first point of contact for LM Re underwriting governance queries or internal reviews related to underwriting practices. Foster a strong collaborative partnership with the Underwriting Governance function, ensuring alignment on frameworks, tools, and standards, while effectively representing LM Re's needs and feedback to shape governance initiatives. Provide governance reporting to the Head of Underwriting Alignment and CUO.
Compliance with all applicable internal and external laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidance, and adhere to underwriting standards, instructions, and best-practice methodologies to minimise risk. Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilities relating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and to proactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements and behaviours at all times.
