About the Role

The Claims Client and Distribution Assistant plays a key support role within the Claims team, providing administrative and operational assistance that helps ensure the smooth running of day-to-day activities.

This is a dynamic and highly connected position, offering exposure to a wide range of colleagues, functions, and business activities across the organisation.

This role has a direct reporting line to the UK & MENA Head of Client & Broker Distribution – Claims and matrix reporting into the Client & Broker Distribution Managers (Claims BD) within the team.

About the Department & Team

Liberty Specialty Markets Claims department handle claims through all stages from initial notification to conclusion including analysis of new notifications, coverage, liability and quantum, establishing and monitoring appropriate reserves and making claims payments as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development Strategy
  • Support Claims BD with the delivery of business development initiatives.
  • Attend Claims BD team meetings and assist with coordinating and follow up on agreed actions and deadlines.
  • Take ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring outputs are completed accurately and on time.
  • Work collaboratively across teams to support joined up delivery of Claims BD priorities.
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes, outputs and ways of working across the team.
  • Broker and Client Relationship Support
  • Support the Claims BD team in strengthening broker and client relationships through accurate information, insight and relationship management activities.
  • Support the development of broker and client presentations and other claims related materials.
  • Assist with delivery of Claims+ client and broker offerings.
  • Assist with the internal and external promotion of the LSM claims proposition.
  • Data Analysis, Reporting and Insight
  • Support the Claims BD team in monitoring broker and client performance through data collection, reporting and analysis.
  • Review and interpret data from sources such as Power BI, CRM systems, Excel and other reporting tools to identify trends, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Produce clear reports, management information and insight summaries to support broker meetings, client discussions and Claims BD initiatives.
  • CRM Management
  • Act as a key point of support for CRM usage within the Claims team, helping to monitor and encourage adoption across the Claims function.
  • Assist users with CRM queries and provide basic guidance or ad-hoc training where required.
  • Support the accurate recording, maintenance and reporting of broker, client and relationship information within the CRM.
  • Marketing Communications
  • Support marketing and communications activity where relevant, both internally and externally.
  • Support the planning and delivery of communications activity aligned to the Claims BD strategy.
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions, broker dynamics, client feedback and relevant industry developments, sharing insights with the team where appropriate.
  • Assist with the organisation and management of internal and external events

  • Any other work as may be assigned by the Claims BD

Skills and Experience

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Power Point and Word.
  • Comfortable working with data, with the ability to review information, identify key points and present findings clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy and good numeracy skills.
  • Well organised, with the ability to manage tasks, deadlines and priorities effectively.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to establish and develop relationships at varying levels with internal and external stakeholders.
  • A self-starter, with initiative and drive, and the ability to devise creative solutions, solve problems and follow through to achieve results.
  • Curious, keen to learn and take ownership of tasks.
  • An interest in insurance, claims, business development, marketing or data analysis.
