The Weigh maintenance team provide a specialist maintenance, quality assurance and development service for a wide range of weighs and weighing equipment across the Speciality business. Although based at Rotherham site, services are also provided for Stocksbridge, and Brinsworth.

The Role of the?Weigh Maintenance Technician

  • The team are responsible for ensuring all weighing equipment is in compliance with relevant company / statutory standards and accreditations for customer quality assurances.
  • The vacancy is for a technician with specific engineering knowledge and skills to undertake the maintenance and quality assurance procedures for the weighing equipment across the Liberty Speciality Steel sites.
  • The Technician must have the ability to undertake routine calibration and maintenance of Weighing systems including.

Requirements of the Weigh Maintenance Technician

  • Technicians should be apprentice trained, BTEC and / or NVQ Level 3 (Electrical or Mechatronics) and ideally have experience in maintaining and calibrating Weighing equipment.
  • Team members must be able to understand safe working procedures and apply?recognised?safety practices to each task they are undertaking including the use of appropriate personal protective equipment and Point of work risk assessments.
  • Team members must be self-motivated and highly flexible. They are required to work unsupervised and deliver a first-class customer service in accordance with departmental goals and KPIs.
  • Weighing equipment must conform to board of trade standards and records of proof of compliance with accreditations and ISO standards must be maintained.
  • Key competencies are a methodical approach to work with attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making skills, and effective verbal communication.
  • A current UK driving license is essential.

The Working Pattern of the Weigh Maintenance Technician?

  • The working pattern is 7 am to 3 pm working every other weekend with time off in the week.
