As an Electrical Technician, you will join a multi-disciplined diagnostic team, responding to breakdowns and completing maintenance for 12 hours, while supporting the department\’s Shift Management team to ensure safety, quality, and production plans.

The Role of the AdvancedElectrical Technician at Remelted Steels
- The role involves reporting to the Team Leader Engineering on maintenance and operation of plant and equipment, carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance activities, self-organising and prioritising work requirements, and developing maintenance practices. The team must pick up work, book spares, and keep records of work carried out via CMMS. Legalisation relating to all systems must be met, and records must be kept.
- The team must adhere to agreed procedures and systems of working, report any changes that prevent them from working to these standards, and have involvement in creating RA SWP & JTDs.
- Point of work risk assessments must be completed, and continuity of cover on site is provided in case of sickness or holiday. Equipment must be maintained to the required standard, and waste reduction and assistance are provided.
- The role also involves deputising for the Team Leader, supervising a multi-skilled workforce, issuing permits, and participating in plant improvement projects. The team may be requested to assist across-site to support business objectives, working in all departments and gaining working knowledge using the local team\’s experience.

- The candidate must have a recognised engineering apprenticeship, sound plant engineering experience, and knowledge of industrial systems such as hydraulic systems, pumps, heavy machinery, water cooling systems, material handling systems, dust extraction systems, robotics, PLCs, and vacuum systems.
- They should be self-starting, capable of leading small teams, and able to work with cross-functional groups.
- They should also have experience working under permit systems and have a customer-focused attitude, understanding prioritisation with current resources.
