Liberty Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering exclusively with a highly regarded charity in the search for an experienced Finance Manager to join their team. Reporting to a highly knowledgeable and personable Finance Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial operations of both the charity and its trading company, whilst leading a dedicated finance team and providing financial guidance across the wider organisation. Based in Chichester, this is a full-time, permanent position, predominately office based. The salary on offer is £50-55k DOE, with some fantastic benefits including 27 days holiday + BH, enhanced pension, EAP and more! This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys a hands-on management role and wants to make a meaningful impact within a values-driven organisation. You will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, payroll oversight, team leadership, and continuous process improvement.
What you'll be doing:
- Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts
- Lead the year-end process and support the preparation of statutory accounts
- Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and oversee cashflow management across multiple bank accounts
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process and support long-term financial planning and forecasting
- Provide financial analysis and advice to senior leaders, managers, and budget holders
- Monitor budgets and identify financial risks, variances, and opportunities
- Lead on VAT reporting, Gift Aid claims, and wider financial compliance activities
- Maintain and develop financial controls, policies, and procedures across the organisation
- Lead, motivate, and develop the Finance team, whilst also providing line management support within the IT function
What you will have:
- Qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or QBE considered
- Previous experience managing and developing teams
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls
- Experience using finance systems within a medium-sized organisation
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and support non-financial stakeholders
- Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
