You’ll join the USRM Product Design team, reporting to the Product Design Manager. Working closely with the USRM User Research team, product, engineering, and data science, you’ll lead the design of a new generative AI experience for claims adjusters—a product with significant potential to improve the claims process.
Responsibilities
- Own the end‑to‑end user experience for projects of moderate to high complexity, from discovery through delivery.
- Apply user‑centered and evidence‑based UX methods to create useful, intuitive, and trustworthy experiences.
- Lead discovery with research: plan studies, synthesize insights, and translate findings into clear recommendations.
- Design high‑quality multi‑step flows, wireframes, concepts, and prototypes in Figma; use Adobe Creative Cloud for asset creation when needed.
- Define success metrics, measure outcomes, and iterate based on usage data, feedback, and business goals.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and data science partners to scope features, validate feasibility, and ship to production.
- Champion accessibility and inclusive design; ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., WCAG).
- Apply responsible AI principles (transparency, bias mitigation, safety) and partner with data science on evaluation strategies.
- Contribute to and evolve the Liberty Mutual Design System: propose and document patterns, components, and guidelines; ensure consistent adoption across products.
- Maintain strong Figma practices (libraries, components/variants, auto layout, tokens) and help improve design delivery workflow.
- Share work early and often, give and receive constructive feedback, and help raise the bar across the team.
- Mentor designers and contribute to communities of practice.
Required Qualifications
- Strong portfolio showcasing the full UX/product design lifecycle for shipped products, with clear problem framing, process, and outcomes.
- Minimum of 3 years designing complex consumer or enterprise applications (B2B workflow experience is a plus).
- Expertise in Figma (components, variants, design tokens, prototyping); familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud is a plus.
- Experience with industry‑recognized design processes (e.g., Double Diamond) applied pragmatically.
- Broad experience across UX disciplines: research partnership, interaction design, service design, and visual design.
- Strong collaboration skills with product and engineering; solid understanding of front‑end constraints and design systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly, make trade‑offs, and align stakeholders around user and business value.

- Experience designing AI‑driven or data‑rich workflows; familiarity with LLM capabilities, constraints, prompt design, and evaluation.
