The Liberty Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation in the search for an experienced Senior People & Development Business Partner to join their People & Development team. Based in Southampton, paying circa £55,000.

You will report to a fantastic Head of P&D and partner with senior stakeholders, drive organisational change, champion equality, engagement, and wellbeing initiatives, and play a key role in shaping the wider people strategy.

What you'll do as a Senior People & Development Business Partner:

  • Partner with senior leaders to provide expert HR support across the full employee lifecycle.
  • Deliver strategic and operational advice on recruitment, performance management, employee relations, organisational development and change.
  • Lead on equality, engagement and wellbeing initiatives, supporting the delivery of the wider People Strategy.
  • Coach and develop managers, enabling them to build confidence and capability in people management.
  • Manage complex employee relations matters, including supporting investigations and appeals.
  • Analyse workforce data, identifying trends and making recommendations to improve organisational performance.
  • Work collaboratively with Trade Unions and external partners to support positive employee relations.
  • Oversee occupational health and wellbeing programmes, ensuring employees receive the appropriate support.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • CIPD Level 5 or 7 qualification.
  • Previous experience in a senior HR role, with a background in EDI and wellbeing.
  • Experience managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret people data and provide meaningful insights.

It would be advantageous if you have:

  • Experience working within a Trade Union environment.
  • Previous experience within a complex, regulated organisation.
