Liberty Hive is recruiting on behalf of our client, a leading industry trade body in advertising, for a Commerce Media Lead to drive their work in one of the fastest-growing areas of digital advertising.
The Opportunity
Commerce Media is reshaping how advertising is planned, bought and measured, as retailers, marketplaces, financial services and travel businesses increasingly monetise their first-party data, audiences and digital properties. Our client is repositioning its offer from Retail Media to Commerce Media, broadening its community beyond retail to bring in advertisers, airlines, hotels, financial services and marketplaces, who don't see "retail media" as a natural home.
The Role
This is a senior, individual contributor role for someone with strong judgement, excellent relationships and the ability to bring members together, agree priorities and deliver against them. You'll develop clear positions on the issues shaping the future of Commerce Media, represent the organisation at conferences, in media interviews and at senior stakeholder forums, and build relationships with international counterparts, trade bodies, analysts and commentators to bring global thinking into the UK market.
What Success Looks Like
- Leading a ~40-company Commerce (currently Retail) Media Working Group, from major retailers through to startups, agencies, advertisers and ad tech: finding common ground and pushing through to get things done.
- Representing the organisation on industry stages and platforms: a compelling, credible presenter with an existing profile in the industry.
- Converting new business, an existing warm pipeline plus new prospects across airlines, hotels, financial services and marketplaces, while retaining current members through year-end renewal.
What We're Looking For
- Strong understanding of Commerce Media and the wider digital advertising landscape.
- Strategic thinking with real gravitas: this is not an executional, agency-side role.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills with senior stakeholders across multiple organisations.
- Confidence speaking publicly, moderating panels and representing an organisation externally.
- Strong commercial and new-business awareness.
The Details
6-9 month FTC, roughly £500/day, ideally 4 days a week. Individual contributor role, no direct reports. Reports to the Chief Strategy Officer.
