Your Role as Our Gas Breakdown Engineer:
- Attend and diagnose gas heating breakdowns within domestic properties.
- Carry out fault‑finding, repairs, and first‑time fixes where possible, ensuring systems are restored safely and efficiently.
- Work in accordance with health & safety guidelines, safe working practices, operational procedures, gas safety regulations, and specifications.
- Participate in an out‑of‑hours call‑out rota to support customers when they need us most.
- Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction and safety.
- Accurately report and complete work using a PDA/mobile device.
- Report accidents, near‑miss events, and potential hazards.
- Be flexible in working with a wide range of customers, adapting to their needs and schedules.
- Identify and advise on any further remedial works required to ensure safe operation of heating systems.
What We Need from You:
- Proven experience in diagnosing and repairing domestic gas heating systems.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Flexibility and a positive attitude towards varied work and schedules.
- Excellent customer service skills with experience working directly with the public.
- A solid understanding of gas legislation and regulations.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and working to industry best standards.
- Ability to manage your time and workload independently.
- Recognised formal qualifications (NVQ Level 2 or equivalent) desirable.
- Additional qualifications (LPG, Unvented) are advantageous.
