Liberty Global is seeking a VP Mobile – Core Network to lead our Mobile & Cloud Technology business unit. Based in London or Amsterdam, you will oversee and develop a team of mobile network specialists, driving our mobile technology strategy forward.

Role Overview

This role reports to the Managing Director, Mobile, Cloud and Technology. You will be at the forefront of technological innovation, working with cutting-edge technologies like 5G, IoT, and Mobile Edge Computing. Your responsibilities include shaping network architecture, leading strategic initiatives, and evolving our mobile infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and steer Mobile Core Network strategy, architecture, and roadmap for Liberty Global\’s MNOs
• Enhance mobile network quality through deployment and optimization of RAN & Core networks, improving customer experience
• Contribute to OpCo budget cycles related to Mobile
• Lead strategic initiatives across Business Units, including Intelligent Networks, MEC, and Satellite
• Advise on mobile-related investments and ventures
• Implement continuous improvements in Liberty Tech processes and tools
• Contribute to NaaS & MPN execution, leveraging APIs for network customization
• Participate in RFQ, vendor decisions, and standardization bodies
• Foster a customer-first culture and attract top talent

Candidate Profile

Experience & Skills

• 10+ years in telco/tech, with 8+ years in leadership roles in mobile networks, cloud, and platforms
• Deep expertise in 5G, IoT, MPN, edge/MEC (Satellite experience a plus)
• Proven mobile network deployment and operational experience
• Strong business acumen, M&A, and strategy knowledge
• Knowledge of 3GPP, RAN architecture, and vendor functionalities
• Understanding of cloud-native, DevOps, AI/ML, and digital tech

Education

• Masters in Engineering or Computer Science; additional relevant qualifications preferred
