We are looking for a Senior Connectivity Architect to join Liberty Global’s Technology Platform group to define the next generation of connectivity experiences across our operating companies. This role provides architectural leadership across CPE, in-home Wi-Fi, Smart Home and associated cloud-based connectivity platforms. You will translate customer and business needs into clear, end-to-end technology strategies, spanning devices, applications and cloud services at scale. Embedding AI capabilities across the platform — from edge intelligence on the CPE to agentic experiences in customer-facing services — is a core pillar of this strategy.

You will bring deep expertise in one or more connectivity domains, combined with the ability to rapidly assess adjacent technologies and guide architectural decisions across the full connectivity stack. You will act as a technical authority and advocate for the ONEConnect platform and ensure its continued evolution as a secure, scalable and market leading, AI-native platform for broadband and Wi-Fi services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a domain authority for CPE, in-home connectivity and Smart Home, shaping roadmaps spanning hardware, software, device management and cloud orchestration.
  • Define the technical approach for integrating solutions for smart Wi-Fi, security and speed-testing, enabling differentiated customer features.
  • Lead RFx activities, building specifications that balance feature sets, performance, cost and delivery timelines.
  • Lead technology assessments, proofs of concept and technical due diligence for new solutions and vendors, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Guide strategic technology choices across CPE, software and AI platforms, incorporating total cost of ownership and unit economics.
  • Identify and shape opportunities for edge AI capabilities on the home CPE, enabling local AI inference, real-time insights and new use cases.
  • Drive ONEConnect’s evolution into an AI-native platform, embedding AI and agentic capabilities across customer experiences, operational automation and platform intelligence, with appropriate privacy and security guardrails.
  • Represent Liberty Global in industry standards bodies and open-source communities (e.g. Broadband Forum, CableLabs, Wi-Fi Alliance, CSA, RDK).
  • Act as a technology evangelist for ONEConnect, ensuring strategy and direction are clearly understood across teams and operating markets.
Delivery, Governance & Operational Excellence
  • Partner with delivery teams and vendors to review designs and lead design reviews, ensuring adherence to principles, best practices, compliance and value for money.
  • Ensure architectures deliver secure, compliant, resilient and scalable ONEConnect and CPE platforms, aligned with European, Swiss and UK regulations (including EU AI Act and responsible AI principles) and industry best practice.
  • Act as a bridge between LTech and Customer Markets, balancing global scalability with local market requirements.
  • Contribute to platform lifecycle strategy, including versioning, compatibility, deprecation and upgrade paths across firmware, APIs and cloud services.
Knowledge & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree level (or equivalent) in a STEM discipline.
  • Proven experience as a technology leader in CPE and connectivity platforms.
  • Strong background spanning cloud-native platforms, APIs, applications and connected consumer devices (e.g. CPE, Wi-Fi, IoT, Smart Home).
  • Experience working with large scale cloud ecosystems, including microservices and AI-enabled platforms, ideally in a telco or service provider context.
  • Experience integrating AI capabilities into customer-facing and operational connectivity systems.
Domain & Technical Knowledge
  • Experience working with large scale cloud ecosystems, including microservices and AI-enabled platforms, ideally in a telco or service provider context.
  • Broad knowledge of connectivity technologies (e.g. Wi-Fi, DOCSIS, XGS-PON, Thread, Bluetooth, Zigbee, 3GPP, USP/TR-369, IP networking).
  • Strong understanding of embedded CPE software (e.g. RDK-B, OpenWRT, OpenEmbedded, HALs/SDKs).
  • Working knowledge of AI/ML for connectivity platforms (e.g. edge inference, LLM/agentic systems, MLOps and responsible AI).
Skills & Abilities
  • Communicate clear, concise and technically robust recommendations to both technical and business audiences with different seniority levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving capability, with an outcome focused mindset.
  • Hands on fluency with modern AI tools and their application to architecture and decision-making.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Experience leading through influence in a matrix organization.
  • Willingness to travel and work across time zones.
