We’re looking for a Finance Manager, Growth to join us in London, United Kingdom. The role is within Liberty Growth, the global investment arm with a portfolio of more than 75 companies and funds across content, live sports, entertainment, technology, finance and infrastructure/energy.
Job Purpose
The Finance Manager in Growth will be a key member of the team supporting the director and CFO of Growth in overseeing the financial management of Liberty Global’s diverse Growth Portfolio, valued at approximately $3.5 B. They will drive financial analysis, reporting, and valuation, supporting the financial operations of emerging “unicorns” and contributing to value creation and strategic financial management in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Own the heartbeat of the Growth portfolio—tracking investments, exits and performance with precision and commercial insight.
- Lead valuations, crafting monthly fair‑market views that shape strategic decisions.
- Partner with high‑growth businesses to build long‑range plans and support funding strategies.
- Dive deep into infrastructure and energy assets, benchmarking performance and extracting meaningful insights.
- Act as a connector across Finance and beyond—collaborating with Tax, Legal, Treasury, M&A and operating companies.
- Evaluate new and existing investment opportunities, ensuring alignment with financial principles and long‑term value creation.
- Drive best‑in‑class financial practices and performance monitoring across the portfolio.
- Create and deliver high‑impact materials for senior leadership – turning complex data into clear, compelling stories.
- Lead coordination with external valuators and manage portfolio valuation reporting.
- Own monthly valuation reporting and contribute to incentive and rewards frameworks.
- Support Investor Relations with insight‑driven quarterly materials.
- Track capital flows, exits and strategic shifts across the portfolio.
- Contribute to the financial strategy of select high‑growth assets, influencing direction and outcomes.
- Help design and refine management fee structures across Growth and its portfolio companies.
Knowledge & Experience – Essential Skills & Abilities
- Proven experience with financial budgets, actuals, business cases, modelling and project coordination.
- Strong financial modelling capability—able to create and maintain models to support business initiatives and investment strategies.
- Ability to coordinate across departments and disciplines to achieve common goals.
- Excellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail while maintaining a big‑picture perspective.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proactive, self‑starting, pragmatic and reliable.
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities, comfortable managing workload and deadline pressures.
Desirable Skills & Abilities
- Experience across multiple asset classes.
- International context experience.
- Valuation experience.
- Financial expertise in fundraising.
- M&A experience in structuring or divestments.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with stakeholders across an international footprint.
