Overview
We’re looking for a Director, Commercial Finance to join us in Chelsea, London.
The Director, Commercial Finance, will play a leadership role in driving the commercial finance agenda for Liberty Global. You will lead a Commercial Finance team to pursue cost-efficiency opportunities and explore potential avenues for commercializing services provided to operating companies, as well as growth and services businesses.
The Director, Commercial Finance will manage end to end budgeting, forecasting, planning and reporting and requires a results-driven individual who can drive commercial initiatives, operational efficiency and foster a culture of continuous improvement and financial discipline across the organization.

One role supports Corporate Central functions and will have accountability for the in-life management of Master Service Agreements (MSAs) ensuring they are structured effectively, financially disciplined, and aligned with business objectives, while overseeing performance, compliance, and value delivery across contractual relationships.
One role is an end-to-end P&L ownership role for our Tech function, a revenue generating business. This role will be ultimately responsible for EBITDA delivery and will lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts and variance analysis for Liberty Tech ensuring high quality reporting of financial results and insights. The role will manage the POR process including the overall presentation and steering of the MD stakeholder community in Tech.
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis for Corporate functions and Liberty Tech, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial results and insights to stakeholders.
- Manage the annual long-term Plan of Record (POR) process, involving cross-functional coordination, presentation preparation, and steering of Tech and Functional MD/VP communities.
- Act as Finance Business Partner to Tech and Functional MD/VP communities, providing support, challenging the status quo, and seeking accretive opportunities.
- Participate in key strategic projects and initiatives, providing financial insights and guidance.
- Ensure all finance-relevant aspects of partnerships are aligned across stakeholders.
- Establish efficient financial processes and governance controls around P&L.
- Challenge stakeholders to explore cost reduction opportunities, revenue-generating avenues, and growth initiatives.
- Develop critical KPI metrics to track performance, focusing on commercialisation, efficiency, and cost discipline.
- Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance, trend, and sensitivity analysis, translating findings into actionable insights.
- Manage all external spend, including consultancy request processes, assessment, and sign-off before submission to CFO, Telecom and Services.
- Develop business case-backed transformation initiatives to streamline financial planning and reporting and drive efficiencies.
- Collaborate with FP&A and other Finance teams to ensure alignment with broader finance transformation strategy and coordination of resources.
- Act as Corporate Managed Service Agreements (MSAs) owner and key point of contact for all customers and service providers, responsible for implementation and in-life management of MSAs.
- Proactively identify potential revenue opportunities to implement new services with affiliate companies.
- Develop monitoring and reporting frameworks for service agreements, including dashboards and contract revenue analysis.
- Build and maintain standard pricing models to optimise efficiency and profitability of service agreements.
- Continuously refine MSA processes to maximise efficiency, profitability, and long-term value.
- Build and develop the commercial finance team, fostering a positive and collaborative environment to drive engagement and morale.
Qualifications
- Exceptional commercial acumen and ability to quickly understand commercial drivers.
- Strong leadership capabilities, with proven ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams.
- Comfortable working in an agile, commercially led environment, able to juggle multiple priorities and adapt to constant change.
- Track record of driving, project managing, and implementing transformational change programs.
- Exceptional grasp of financials, forecasting, and forward planning, with the ability to articulate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Skilled in managing and negotiating commercial contracts, including MSAs, with a focus on governance, compliance, and value delivery.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Pragmatic and results-driven, with a strong ability to work with senior leadership and across departments.
- Highly skilled in financial modelling and advanced Excel/PowerPoint, with experience using financial systems (e.g., Oracle, Smartview, HFM) and AI tools to drive efficiency.
- Professionally qualified (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent), with experience in commercial finance and FP&A.
