Job Description:
As the Senior Manager, Strategy and Corporate Development, you will support the strategic growth initiatives of Liberty Blume, focusing on 1) leading M&A deal execution tasks and acting as day-to-day liaison for specific deals (end-to-end execution) 2) coordinating with stakeholders on post-merger integration (PMI) activities 3) wider Corp Dev support as detailed in section below. Directly reporting to Director, Strategy & Development, your primary responsibility will be to support in the development and execution of the corporate development strategy, aligning it with our long-term business ambitionsfor Blume.
Your role will support the VP & Directors in the team by working with the Liberty Blume Development Leads to support in identifying potential acquisition targets, diligently assessing their strategic fit, and leading M&A execution tasks where you manage critical components such as due diligence processes, financial modeling, and valuation assessments.
This role will assume a key position in the Development pillar of Liberty Blume and will play a key position in setting the corporate development strategy for Liberty Blume, which will be critical to its success.
What will you be doing?
- Lead M&A deal process on a day-to-day basis including the due diligence process, coordinating efforts across legal, financial, and operational teams as well as external advisors + all stakeholders from initial market scanning & research activities all the way to SPA negotiation and PMI activities after deal closing
- Develop or oversee external advisor financial models to evaluate the financial impact of potential transactions, presenting the financial data to support decision-making
- Working across departments and leadership teams on a confidential basis to ensure smooth deal execution and support
- Support negotiations for deals you lead, ensuring favorable terms for the company in collaboration with our legal and finance teams to structure deals that mitigate risks
- Collaborate with operational and functional leaders to ensure smooth post-merger integration, whilst developing integration plans to maximize synergies
- Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential areas for business expansion and support M&A deal market scanning
- Support VP and the team on wider Strategy & Corp Dev needs as required
- Other duties as shall reasonably be requested
We tend to look for people with:
- Strong experience in banking, corporate development, business integration or M&A roles
- Demonstrate success in developing and delivering M&A strategies, deal due diligence process management, integration synergy tracking and PMI project management
- Proven skills in strategic planning, deal sourcing, negotiation and execution skills
- Established experience of working in a complex corporate environment (corp. M&A especially)
- Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with a wide stakeholder group
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly growing company and handle a wide variety of challenges and deadlines
