We are recruiting an experienced BMS / Commercial Gas Engineer to operate as a Technical Team Leader (TTL), providing hands-on expertise alongside the supervision of a multidisciplinary engineering team. This role sits at the heart of our commercial operations and will suit someone with a strong Building Management Systems (BMS) background, commercial gas knowledge, and the confidence to lead engineers across multiple workstreams.
You’ll report directly to the Commercial Lead and will be responsible for a team of 5, including Gas Engineers and Wet Fitters, delivering planned and reactive maintenance across commercial sites.
Key Responsibilities- Technical leadership and day-to-day supervision of a commercial engineering team
- Act as the senior technical point of contact for BMS diagnostics, fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Oversight of commercial gas plant, heating systems, HVAC and associated controls
- Support, develop and performance-manage engineers on site
- Technical ownership of BMS systems, including: Trend / KNX systems, Heat metering and billing platforms, Integration, monitoring and fault resolution
- Ensure works are delivered safely, compliantly and to agreed standards
- Liaise with clients, management and office teams to maintain service excellence
- Mix of on-site and office-based work, depending on operational need
About the Systems: BMS systems control critical building infrastructure including fire alarms, ventilation, heating and energy management. This role requires strong electrical and computer-based diagnostic capability within a specialist building controls environment.

Essential:- Strong experience working with BMS systems (Trend, KNX or similar)
- Commercial environment experience (domestic background not suitable)
- Proven supervisory / team-leading experience across multiple engineers
- Technical fault-finding and diagnostic expertise
- Solid understanding of commercial heating plant and controls
- Relevant commercial qualifications
- ACS qualifications: CCN1, HTR1, CKR1, CENWAT, COCN1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, CDGA1, CIGA1
- Full UK driving licence
- Experience with heat metering and energy billing platforms
Candidates with strong BMS experience but limited gas exposure will still be considered, provided they bring the right leadership and commercial mindset.
