Are you an experienced Drainage Engineer looking to join a growing team where no two days are the same? At Liberty, we're looking for a skilled and customer-focused Drainage Engineer to support our social housing contracts in our Responsive Repairs team, carrying out drainage maintenance, CCTV inspections, fault finding and repairs across domestic properties. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive team with genuine progression opportunities into Site Supervisor roles.
What you'll be doing:
- Attend domestic and light commercial drainage jobs, including blockages, slow-draining fixtures and external drainage issues.
- Carry out CCTV drainage surveys and inspections.
- Diagnose and clear blockages using high-pressure jetting equipment.
- Identify drainage defects and recommend further remedial works.
- Complete drainage repairs, patches and maintenance works.
- Use appropriate equipment to diagnose and clear drainage problems safely.
- Carry out practical drainage repair and maintenance work.
- Explain findings clearly to customers and recommend sensible next steps.
- Take photos, write clear job notes and keep the office updated on follow-on work.
- Manage urgent reactive jobs while keeping workmanship tidy and professional.
What success looks like:
- Attend drainage appointments prepared and on time.
- Clear common blockages safely and efficiently.
- Identify recurring drainage issues and recommend sensible follow-on work.

What we're looking for:
- Minimum 4 years' drainage engineering experience.
- Experience using high-pressure water jetting equipment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Own plumbing/drainage hand tools.
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Practical experience as a drainage engineer or multi-skilled engineer handling drainage work.
- Confidence clearing common blockages and identifying recurring drainage problems.
- Experience using drainage equipment such as rods, jetting equipment or CCTV inspection tools.
- A tidy, reliable and customer-conscious way of working.
- Ability to manage reactive appointments without close supervision.
Desirable:
- Social housing experience.
- WJA (Water Jetting Association) Card.
- High-pressure water jetting experience.
- CCTV drainage survey or inspection experience.
- Pipeline repair experience including CIPP (Cured-In-Place Pipe) lining and no-dig rehabilitation techniques.
- Experience with domestic and light commercial drainage work.
