Salary: £24,434 - £24,819 Pro Rata

Liberty Recruitment Group is proud to be partnering with a fantastic education provider in Pulborough, who is looking for a Childcare Assistant to join them on a permanent basis. We can consider candidates on a full or part-time basis; however, you will be required to work full 7.5-hour shifts and school hours cannot be considered due to the business needs.

Childcare Assistant Role Overview:

You will be responsible for ensuring a safe, caring and stimulating childcare environment. You will also be required to organise and implement a programme of activities based in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage for each age group.

What the Childcare Assistant role will involve:

  • To ensure that the children are happy, settled and well cared for
  • To be a key worker for named children and to plan for individual needs and to keep accurate records
  • To work as part of a team to ensure that the children’s individual needs are met, and ensure that every child reaches their full potential
  • To work as part of a team to ensure effective and appropriate communication with parents, carers, members of staff and external agencies
  • To ensure health, hygiene and safety standards are maintained
  • To assist with all activities in the nursery as requested by senior staff
  • To respect and maintain the working environment and resources
  • To adhere to all operational policies and procedures

What you’ll bring:

  • Level 3 in Early Years, Care and Education (or equivalent) is essential
  • Current First Aid certificate would be desirable
  • Previous experience of working in a childcare setting or have undertaken a childcare placement
  • Knowledge of Early Years Regulations, Safeguarding and Health & Safety
  • A kind and personable nature, with the ability to relate to all children on their level

Additional information:

  • 22 days holiday, plus bank holidays and additional leave for Christmas and New Year
  • Salary progression opportunities
  • The Nursery is open 51 weeks of the year with core opening hours of 7.30am – 6 pm – closing only for bank holidays and 1 week between Christmas and New Year
