Job Description
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- As a requirement within this role you will be expected to register with Social Care Wales Within 6 months of commencing employment. This includes maintaining your registration with CPD and upkeep of associated annual costs.
- To act in accordance with standards set within the Social Care Wales Guidelines and requirements.
- To act in professional manner at all times, All employees are considered representatives of Liberty Care and should reflect the high standards we strive to uphold.
- To have appropriate qualification for your role as defined by the qualification framework for social care and regulated childcare (Wales), which is currently a QCF Level 2 or above or be willing to work towards this.
- To support the personalised development of each individual you support, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs.
- To respect the dignity, respect and individuality of everyone we support and provide them with choices where appropriate. All staff to work to uphold non-discriminatory practices.
- To assist in the day-to-day running of their home and in all matters regarding the individualsā daily lives.
- To support in ensuring high standards of care and support are maintained, adhering to all requirements and applicable regulations such as the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) act 2014 and the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care (Wales) Act 2016.
- To work as part of a staff team in a constructive and supportive manner, attend regular staff meetings / seminars, individual support and supervision meetings as necessary.
- To work within a rotaād shift system inclusive of evening and weekend work (including public holidays.) To sleep-in when arranged at a predetermined payment.
- To be āon-callā & āStandbyā by arrangement as per contract.
- To undertake tasks as delegated by line manager.
- To ensure the safety of the individuals at all times, reporting promptly any concerns about the health, safety or wellbeing of individuals.
- To establish positive and trustworthy relationships with individuals and relatives while adhering to the Code of Professional Conduct and Duty of Candour.
Individual Support & Key Worker Responsibilities.
- To support the personalised development of each individual, recognising talent, sensitivities and beliefs. (Already above)
- To respect the dignity and individuality of each individual and provide the individuals with choices where appropriate. (Already above)
- To ensure a high standard of personal care for each individual, including matters of physical well being and personal hygiene.
- To initiate and support individuals to be involved in educational, occupational, recreational activities when appropriate.
- To be flexible and to support using a wide variety of communication systems to ensure individuals needs, wishes and requests are upheld.
- To be aware of the emotional needs and aspirations of each individual and provide opportunities for appropriate emotional expression.
- To contribute to the overall cleaning of the individualsā home and involve the individuals in these tasks as appropriate.
- To write and keep updated individual individuals Care Plans and be actively be involved in the review process.
- To follow consistently all agreed Care Plans, Risk Assessments and individual individualās guidelines, reporting any progress or problems with these.
- To report promptly any concerns about health, safety or wellbeing of individuals.
- To assist individuals in maintaining good contact with family and friends.
- To assist in ensuring all individuals are supported to go on an annual holiday in line with their wishes.
- To act as key worker to individuals as agreed with the Manager.
- To complete keyworker reviews/monthly commissioning reports as required
General Responsibilities
- To compile detailed written records in the individualsā daily files. To note and report any changes in the individuals health and behaviour.
- To administer medication in line with all Policies and Procedures and to maintain all associated records.
- To accurately maintain all records as required by the Domiciliary Manager. Line manager
- To have a working knowledge of all Policies, Procedures and guidelines within Liberty Care.
- To adhere to the Social Care Wales Code of Conduct, copy available in the Induction Handbook.
- To undertake courses and pursue own professional development and training. The Company proactively encourages staff to improve their skills as appropriate.
- To be aware of and have available all contact details and telephone numbers that may be required in an emergency.
- To notify the manager of any new criminal convictions you may have committed, including motoring offences. And maintain annual subscription to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
- To provide evidence of driving qualifications to administration and to comply with 6 monthly driving licence checks. (If applicable)
- All staff have a responsibility to their own health and wellbeing, others can be affected by their actions or omissions. Staff to notify the Manager of any changes in your health that may affect you in your role.
- To be flexible in terms of work base to meet the needs of the service. You will be based in one location, with the expectation that all Liberty Care employees will work flexibly across the company, as and when required.
- To report any Health & Safety/Maintenance concerns to the Team Leader/Head Office whilst also adding to the maintenance list. Staff to comply with information, instruction and training provided by Liberty Care with all relation to Health and Safety.
