We’re looking for a Recoveries Paralegal to join our growing team in Bradford on a permanent basis. This is a hybrid role, with two days in the office and three days working remotely each week. As part of the continued growth of our Legal Operations Team at Liberty Blume, during an exciting period of expansion and transformation, we’re looking for a Recoveries Paralegal to join us. This role will focus on a broad range of recoveries work, including third‑party network damage, debt, and ULR matters.
You’ll be supported by a Team Manager and will have the opportunity to develop your skills alongside qualified solicitors, as well as assist on litigated matters under supervision. In this role, you’ll manage your own caseload across network damage, debt and ULR recoveries using a case management system, with access to the latest technology to support your day‑to‑day work. You’ll also contribute to key administrative activities, including setting up new cases, issuing initial notification letters, and processing payments. In addition, you’ll play a part in identifying opportunities for process improvements, including automation and the use of AI.
What will you be doing?
- Manage a varied recoveries caseload, including both pre‑litigated and litigated matters across network damage, debt and ULR claims, ensuring cases are progressed efficiently and effectively.
- Review and progress new claims by assessing incoming data, setting up matters and advancing them in line with agreed KPIs.
- Conduct investigations and due diligence using a range of databases and information sources.
- Ensure full compliance with internal processes and regulatory requirements across the end‑to‑end claims and payment lifecycle.
- Carry out legal research using specialist tools to support projects and broader team initiatives.
- Collaborate with business partners to design, test and implement automation solutions to improve efficiency within Legal Operations.
- Develop hands‑on legal experience by working closely with qualified solicitors and supporting supervised litigated matters.
Essential
- Law degree (or equivalent) or proven experience in a similar recoveries/claims handling role.
- Experience managing a high‑volume caseload and prioritising effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with a structured and organised approach to work.
- Ability to analyse information and make sound decisions to progress claims efficiently.
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to follow processes and maintain compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
Desirable
- Previous experience within recoveries, debt, insurance or legal operations.
- Exposure to litigated matters or supporting legal proceedings.
- Experience using case management systems.
- Familiarity with network damage or ULR claims.
