The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a talented Divisional Sales Manager, with proven excellent managerial experience, to join our Retail team in our Beauty department.
The Divisional Sales Manager oversees the daily operations of an entire department. They are an integral part of the management team and the primary contact for their direct reports. Ensuring sales, service and stock targets are achieved, they will provide hands-on support with scheduled staff training and development, merchandising, visual merchandising, inventory control and e-commerce. The divisional sales manager is an exciting and encompassing role. Successful candidates will work with our Store Director to make sure Liberty continues to innovate and be a global market leader in everything specialist, quirky and creative.
Key Accountabilities:
Leadership and Coaching
- Plans department rota to ensure sufficient cover during peak trade.
- Completes monthly one-to-one reviews with the team, setting and following up on objectives and targets.
- Addresses performance issues in a timely manner. Continues to enhance performance with regular coaching.
- Holds daily team briefs that are planned in advance to engage and energise the team to sell
- Actively develops the team. On return from training attended, review learning and how it will be implemented into their role.
- Forges and builds working relationships with managers and buyers in own and other departments.
Service for Sales
- Allocates challenging sales targets to each member of the team and monitors progress through productivity.
- Sets, rewards and incentivises the team to achieve targets and coaches the team to enhance performance further.
- Executes floor moves in line with brand performance and sell-through
- Provides weekly trade feedback highlighting successes, customer feedback and opportunities for further growth.
- Ensures the team are fully versed with all Store services and promotions.
- Solves customer issues before they escalate making best judgment decisions in the interest of the customer and business.
Standards
- Floor walks happen daily ensuring product availability and standards of the shop floor (including staff and stock) and stockroom are adhered to.
- Prevents stock loss ensuring all stock is tagged, free from the liability of damage, paperwork is correctly administered, and the correct Pos numbers go through the till.
- Prepares and participates in stock take.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Managers are required to perform duties off the shop floor in the stockroom which may include an element of manual handling. Your role will require you to work on a shift pattern including early starts, late finishes, weekends and bank holidays. Supporting stock takes, extended trading hours and other ad hoc company initiatives in line with business needs is a requirement.
