Role Purpose

The Bank Clinical Support Nurse will work in collaboration with the Senior Clinical Lead and wider Nursing team to support and uphold regional compliance, internal governance and quality standards. This role is designed to strengthen clinical capacity and to support nursing colleagues in maintaining regulatory compliance and professional standards. The Bank Clinical Support Nurse will also play a key role in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, families, and patients; promoting trust, transparency, and confidence in the quality of our clinical service delivery. In addition, the role will have a focus on pastoral care and wellbeing support for care staff, offering guidance, encouragement, and a clinical point of contact to help foster a supportive and compassionate working environment.

Clinical Support and Quality Assurance

  • Support the Senior Clinical Lead and Registered Manager in ensuring that care delivery meets the highest standards of safety, effectiveness, and person‑centred practice.
  • Participate in internal audits, governance reviews, and quality monitoring activities to identify areas for improvement.
  • Support compliance with statutory, mandatory, and contractual requirements, including CQC and NMC standards.
  • Contribute to the investigation and review of clinical incidents, ensuring learning and continuous improvement.

Service Mobilisation and Implementation

  • Support the mobilisation of new care packages, ensuring all clinical requirements are met prior to commencement.
  • Work collaboratively with operational teams to ensure appropriate staffing, training, and competency sign‑off prior to service launch.
  • Contribute to clinical risk assessments and ensure clear communication of clinical needs to field teams.
  • Provide on‑site clinical oversight and support during service mobilisation as required.

Governance and Clinical Development

  • Assist in maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date records, care documentation, and audit trails.
  • Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, safety, and reflective learning across nursing and care teams.
  • Support the implementation of quality improvement projects and new clinical initiatives.

Support to Field Teams

  • Provide clinical guidance and support to field‑based nurses and care staff on matters within scope of practice.
  • Assist in the completion of competency assessments, supervisions, and spot checks as required.
  • Support the induction and development of new nurses and care staff.
  • Encourage adherence to company values and promote professional standards of conduct.

Professional Standards and Development

  • Maintain professional registration and practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct.
  • Participate in continuing professional development and training as directed.
  • Support colleagues through mentorship and the promotion of evidence‑based practice.

Person Specification

  • Registered Nurse (Adult / Child / LD) with current NMC registration.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance, quality frameworks, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience in a community, complex care, or leadership role preferred.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.
