We are recruiting a Female Complex Care Assistant to provide specialist 1:1 support for a young woman with complex healthcare needs in her own home in Attleborough, near Norwich. About the Client

You will be supporting a friendly woman in her 20s who has complex needs associated with Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome, epilepsy, autism, and learning disabilities. She also requires support with PEG feeding, oral suctioning, and ongoing seizure management. She lives in her own home and enjoys an active and varied lifestyle. Her interests include singing, dancing, baking, swimming, going for walks, and eating out. She thrives with the support of caring and engaging individuals who can help her participate in the activities she loves while ensuring her safety and wellbeing.

As a Complex Care Assistant, you will provide person-centred support tailored to the client's individual needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality 1:1 complex care support
  • Monitoring and managing epilepsy and seizures
  • Supporting with PEG feeding and nutrition
  • Providing oral suctioning when required
  • Assisting with personal care and daily living activities
  • Supporting mobility and community access
  • Administering medication in line with care plans
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Maintaining accurate care records and documentation
  • Working collaboratively with family members and healthcare professionals

Essential Experience & Skills

Due to the client's needs, this role is open to female applicants only. We are looking for candidates with:

  • Previous experience as a Complex Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Support Worker, or Care Assistant
  • Experience supporting individuals with: Epilepsy and seizure management, Autism, PEG feeding
  • Experience managing and responding to challenging behaviours
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, compassionate, and empathetic approach
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a positive attitude
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a wider care team
