Paediatric Cerebral Palsy Support Worker – Slough

Hours available: 9am-3pm Monday – Friday & some weekend shifts.

Pay: £16-£18.50 per hour.

We are seeking dedicated female support workersto join our team, working with our new client in Slough. Our client is a 3-year-old male with Cerebral Palsy, who currently has night nurses for repositioning and occasional suctioning. He enjoys going out for walks and the family are keen to have support workers who can cook.

Previous experience supporting young children is essential, plus a full UK driving licence.

Knowledge of seizures and and PEG experience desirable as his needs are currently being assessed, although full training can be provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with transporting client to appointments and out in the community as required.
  • Delivering personalised care routines.
  • Assisting with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and meal preparation.
  • Administering medication and monitoring health conditions.
  • Encouraging and joining in with play and activities!
  • Providing emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in clients’ conditions.
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

  • Paediatric experience, preferably in a similar role working with CP and/or brain injuries.
  • Knowledge of PEG & seizures desirable.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
  • Awareness of Muslim culture; respect that this is a halal household only
