Location: Canterbury

Salary: £28.36 per hour weekdays, £32.63 per hour weekends, £32.63 per hour weeknights, £36.89 weekend nights.

Job Type: Zero-hour contract

Shifts: 8am-8pm and 8pm-8am Mon-Fri

As the Team Leader, you would be working shifts with the client, as well as having admin and clinical duties.

Role Overview:

We are offering an opportunity for experienced Registered Nurse to join our new client in Canterbury as a Team Leader. Our client is a male in his late 50’s with a Spinal Injury following a road traffic accident. He has a catheter and requires daily support with bowel management, cough assist and nebulisers, plus monitoring for signs of autonomic dysreflexia.

As the Team Leader, you will provide hands-on support to the client, Support Workers and Clinical Lead, including supporting with competency sign off's.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Clinical Lead with the Clinical requirements, including competency sign off's for the Support Workers
  • Assisting with personal care (washing, dressing, catheter and bowel management)
  • Preparing meals and supporting with nutrition
  • Administering medication and supporting with cough assist and nebulisers (training provided)
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Supporting with moving and handling
  • Light housekeeping duties

Qualifications and Experience:

  • An active NMC Pin
  • Previous experience within a similar role, supporting clients with high level spinal cord injury with complex needs.
  • Experience with catheter care, bowel management and/or knowledge of Autonomic Dysreflexia.
  • A valid UK driving licence essential to drive during shift.
  • A caring and compassionate nature
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
