Location: Norfolk
Hours: 24 hour shifts – 12-hour day 8am-8pm, plus a sleeping night – 8pm-8am, 7 days per week available.
Pay: £14.50 per hour weekdays. £15.50 per hour weekend days, plus sleeping night rate.
We are looking for a compassionate, dedicated, adaptable and reliable female support worker to join our team and provide tailored support to a female in her late 20’s with complex needs.
Due to role responsibilities, you must have a full UK driving licence.
About The Client
Our client is a 28-year-old female with severe epilepsy, autism & learning disabilities. She has a gastrostomy, a feeding tube and a PEG for medication. She requires oral suctioning and medication to control seizures. She requires support with toileting, washing and dressing. Her favourite activities include baking, jigsaw puzzles, walks, eating out in pubs and cafes, swimming and going to the beach.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver personalized care and support to our client.
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene.
- Administer medication via PEG, oral suctioning and monitor health conditions.
- Accompany client in the community.
- Provide emotional support and companionship.
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client's condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements
- Experience in a similar role, with extensive knowledge and experience with epilepsy.
- Experience with suctioning & PEG desirable, however training can be provided.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature.
- Aware of accessibility - knowledge of wheelchair friendly routes, transport and venues.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work the specified hours.
- Valid UK driver’s license.
