Location: Wokingham

Hours: 1 x weekday shift & waking night shift

1 x weekend day shift & waking night shift

Pay: £16 – £17.50 per hour depending on shift.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Brain Injury Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to our client, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Due to role responsibilities, you must have a full UK driving licence and be willing to drive the client’s car.

About The Client

Our client is a male in his 20’s with a brain injury. He has pet cats, so support workers must be comfortable working around them.

There is minimal manual handling as he is mobile, whilst slightly unsteady.

You will work 2:1, alongside a detailed behaviour management plan, reviewed by a psychologist monthly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized care and support to our client.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including accompanying client in the community and taking client to appointments.
  • Monitoring and re-ordering medication.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship.
  • Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in the client\’s condition.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role, preferably with brain injury and non-verbal experience with used of sign language.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Energetic, upbeat, and empathetic nature.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work the specified hours.
  • Valid UK driver\’s license.
