Liberowe, a premium womenswear brand based in London, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Studio Designer Junior to join our design team. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on designer with strong pattern making and sewing skills to contribute to the development of our collections and bring our design concepts to life.
Role Overview:
As a Studio Designer Junior, you will work closely with our design team to develop garments from initial sketches through to finished pieces. You will be responsible for creating technical patterns, initial toiles, and ensuring each design is translated accurately into production-ready pieces. The role is based at our studio in Queen’s Park, London, and we are looking for someone to start immediately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and create technical patterns for garments across all collections
- Assist in garment fitting and alterations to ensure a perfect fit
- Support the design team in the construction of prototypes and samples
- Sew and assemble sample garments as needed for fitting and production
- Create technical packs and specification sheets for production
- Maintain accurate records of patterns and samples
- Organise the design studio, ensuring materials and patterns are updated and accessible
Requirements:
- A degree in fashion design or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Strong pattern making and sewing skills, with a deep understanding of garment construction
- A minimum of 1 year’s experience in a studio or design assistant role within the fashion industry
- Proficiency in pattern cutting and sample sewing
- Knowledge of fabrics, trims, and garment finishing techniques
- Good understanding of garment fitting and alterations
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign for technical drawings
- Creative, detail-oriented, and highly organised with the ability to work under pressure
- Strong motivation and self drive
- London-based and available to work in person at our studio
