At Liberis, we are on a mission to provide accessible and responsible finance to small businesses through our embedded finance partnerships! As Head of Credit Risk Management, you will play a key role in delivering our risk strategy and ensuring that risk management supports sustainable and profitable growth. Reporting to the VP of Risk, you will be responsible for evolving and managing Liberis' risk appetite framework, monitoring portfolio performance and partnering closely with teams across Commercial, Finance, Pricing, Decisioning, Machine Learning, Product and Operations. You will help ensure Liberis continues to grow responsibly, supporting new products, strategic partnerships and expansion into new markets while maintaining strong portfolio performance.

You will lead three core functions within Risk: Portfolio Management & Analytics, Underwriting, and Collections & Recoveries. Through these teams, you will drive strong risk outcomes, optimise portfolio performance and help ensure risk remains a strategic enabler of growth across the business. This role is ideal for a commercially minded risk leader who enjoys combining analytical rigour with cross-functional collaboration to deliver strong business and customer outcomes.

What you'll be doing:

  • Own and evolve Liberis' risk appetite framework, keeping it aligned with business growth and strategic direction.
  • Monitor and manage portfolio performance across products, partners and geographies, ensuring risk stays within appetite.
  • Act as a strategic partner to Commercial, Finance, Pricing, Product and Operations — enabling growth while managing risk-adjusted returns.
  • Contribute to new product development, partnerships and market expansions.
  • Lead three core functions — Portfolio Management & Analytics, Underwriting, and Collections & Recoveries — driving strong outcomes across all three.
  • Build, develop and retain high-performing teams, establishing strong governance and decision-making frameworks.
  • Provide clear, actionable risk insights to senior leadership to inform business decisions.

What We Think You'll Need:

  • Significant credit risk leadership experience in lending, fintech or embedded finance, ideally in unsecured SME credit.
  • Deep understanding of the full credit lifecycle — PD/LGD/ECL, IFRS 9, risk appetite, and portfolio management in a growth-oriented environment.
  • Proven track record leading underwriting, portfolio management or collections functions.
  • Strong commercial instincts — you see risk management as a growth enabler, not just a control function.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and influence senior stakeholders across a complex organisation.
  • Data-driven mindset with experience using analytics and technology to improve risk and operational outcomes.
