At Liberis, our mission is to empower small and medium-sized businesses by removing finance as a friction to growth, delivering contextual, embedded financial solutions to support merchants at every stage of their business lifecycle.
You will invent, test, and validate new product verticals that enable institutional capital to reach millions of small and medium businesses globally. Starting with commercial Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), you will design embedded capital products, run fast, evidence-driven experiments, prove unit economics and risk performance in market, and define the operational patterns required for scale.
You will act as the primary commercial and technical counterpart to banks and institutional investors, designing capital products and distribution models that allow partners to deploy capital efficiently and at scale. Once a product meets defined commercial, risk, and operational criteria, ownership will transition to a fully resourced product or platform team.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Product Discovery and Experimentation: Lead hypothesis-driven discovery and rapid experimentation to identify viable product concepts, pricing structures, repayment mechanics, and underwriting approaches for commercial BNPL and adjacent embedded capital products.
- Define MVPs and pilot structures with explicit success metrics and go/no-go criteria.
- Run controlled pilots, synthesize quantitative and qualitative evidence, and produce decision-grade recommendations for investment and scale.
- Design for Institutional Capital: Design capital products and distribution models for banks and institutional investors, including term structures, pricing, risk-sharing mechanics, capital waterfalls, reporting, and SLAs.
- Own senior-level conversations and negotiations with banks and institutional investors to align incentives and secure pilot capital.
- Translate investor requirements into product specifications, integration patterns, and reporting frameworks that enable scalable capital deployment.
- Commercial Ownership for Pilots: Own end-to-end pilot economics, including unit economics, funded volume, loss performance, cost of capital, and realized gross profit.
- Define commercialization criteria and the roadmap from pilot to scale.
- Lead structured handover to platform or product families once scale criteria are met.
- Risk, Compliance and Operations: Partner with Risk and Legal to define underwriting, collections, and regulatory guardrails suitable for institutional capital deployment across jurisdictions.
- Design settlement, reconciliation, reporting, and audit processes capable of supporting high-volume capital deployment.
- Go-To-Market and Partnerships: Collaborate with GTM and Partnerships to define partner value propositions, commercial models, and onboarding journeys.
- Own partner success metrics through pilot and early-scale phases.
- Measurement, Reporting, and Governance: Define and own the experimentation and performance dashboard.
- Lead weekly experiment reviews, monthly product performance reviews, and quarterly investment reviews with senior leadership and investor partners.
What We Think You’ll Need
- 10+ years of experience building financial products at the intersection of fintech, banking, or capital markets; experience with commercial BNPL, revenue-based financing, or embedded capital strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success designing products for banks or institutional investors and negotiating commercial and risk-sharing terms.
- Strong financial and analytical capability, including capital structuring, pricing, cost of capital analysis, and unit economics.
- Deep understanding of underwriting, loss modeling, and operational controls for high-volume SMB finance.
- Proven product leadership, including running experiments, defining MVPs, and transitioning pilots into scalable product families.
- Technical fluency to define APIs, data requirements, and work closely with engineering and data teams.
- Exceptional stakeholder management, with the ability to lead investor discussions and align senior internal partners.
- Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
Nice to Have: Experience scaling embedded finance products across multiple geographies.
