This is a full-time remote role (1 day per month in the office) for a Costs Draftsman, located in Bolton. The Costs Draftsman will be responsible for preparing detailed bills of costs, drafting schedules, and negotiating settlement of costs with third parties. Additional tasks include preparing points of dispute and replies, reviewing legal documents relevant to costs, and ensuring compliance with current regulations and guidelines. Collaborating closely with legal teams to manage case files efficiently will also be an integral part of this role.
We have two positions available:
- 1 x Housing Disrepair Costs Draftsman & Negotiator – Salary DOE.
- 1 x Breach of Contract Costs Draftsman & Negotiator – Salary DOE.
We are looking for individuals with 2+ Years’ Experience drafting 3 Column Bills, preparing Part 8 proceedings, Points of Dispute and Replies.
Qualifications- Strong skills in drafting bills of costs, schedules, and points of dispute and replies
- Experience in costs negotiation and case file review
- Proficiency in analyzing legal documents, including court procedures and regulatory requirements
- Attention to detail, organizational abilities, and time management skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and under deadlines
- Experience with relevant costs drafting software is beneficial
- Legal education background or prior experience in similar roles is advantageous
