The Role

Key Responsibilities
- Drafting Bills of Costs, Costs Budgets (Precedent H), and Points of Reply in commercial litigation matters
- Preparing and assessing costs schedules for high claims
- Negotiating costs settlements directly with opposing parties and clients
- Liaising with solicitors, fee earners, and clients to ensure accuracy in costing documentation
- Supporting the team in cost recovery strategies and advocating best practices in costs management
- Keeping up to date with costs-related case law and legislative changes
- Supporting more junior team members
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years in costs drafting, preferably within commercial litigation but not essential
- Proficiency in drafting bills of costs for complex, high-value cases
