An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and proactive individual to join one of the Liberal Democrats' newest and most exciting local parties. Frome & East Somerset was an entirely new constituency at the General Election in 2024. It comprises parts of the Somerset Council area and parts of Bath & North East Somerset Council, both of which are run by Lib Dem administrations.

As a Constituency Organiser, you'll play a key role in delivering our local campaigns, supporting our councillors, candidates, and volunteers, and helping us prepare for two sets of the Unitary Council elections in 2027 and the next General Election. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with enthusiasm, initiative, and a willingness to learn the full range of campaign skills with a winning team that wants to improve the lives of residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Campaign Team in planning and delivering all aspects of local campaigns.
  • Recruit, motivate, and manage volunteers to build local campaign capacity.
  • Coordinate impactful canvassing sessions and community engagement activities.
  • Assist in the design, production, and delivery of compelling campaign literature.
  • Support social media campaigns and create engaging digital content.
  • Build positive relationships with councillors, candidates, and the MP and work with them to identify key local issues and priorities.
  • Assist with organising events, VIP visits, and campaign launches.
  • Maintain and use digital campaign tools (training provided).
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and work effectively with volunteers and elected representatives.
  • Good organisational and project management skills.
  • A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Full driving licence and access to a car (essential).
  • Supporting the goals of the Liberal Democrats and previous campaigning experience (desirable).
  • Familiarity with Lib Dem computer systems (desirable).
Work Pattern

This role requires flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend work in line with campaign activity. Time off in lieu will be provided.
