We are currently seeking a GC Chemist to join our client's quality team. This is a role focused on ensuring the long-term efficacy and safety of pharmaceutical products. You will be responsible for analysing how products perform over time, helping ensure every batch meets customer expectations.
What you'll do:
- Stability Analysis: Conducting testing on a variety of chemicals in accordance with scheduled time points.
- Gas Chromatography: Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining GC instrumentation to analyse volatile compounds and residual solvents.
- GMP Compliance: Our client's lab is a GMP environment so all laboratory work is performed and documented in strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards.
- Data Interpretation: Processing chromatographic data, investigating any Out of Specification (OOS) results, and maintaining accurate, audit-ready records.
- Method Support: Assisting in the maintenance and potentially the validation of analytical methods to ensure robust testing protocols.
Your background:
We are looking for a focused and detail-oriented scientist for a regulated laboratory environment. This role is ideal for a graduate or an early-career chemist looking to further their expertise in analytical chemistry within the pharmaceutical sector.
Education: A degree (or equivalent) in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, or a closely related scientific discipline.
Technical Experience: Practical experience with Gas Chromatography (GC) is essential. Stability understanding also, which can be gained through a university research project, an industrial placement, or previous commercial laboratory experience.
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of (or direct experience in) a GMP environment and stability study protocols is highly desirable.
Skills: Strong analytical "bench" skills, including accurate sample preparation and the ability to interpret complex chromatograms. You should be comfortable working to deadlines while maintaining high levels of accuracy.
Attributes: A methodical approach to problem-solving, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
