We are working with a specialist in chemical research and development who are experts in the scale-up and manufacture of high-value, niche chemicals. They work on novel APIs for clinical studies to advanced polymers and semiconductors, its chemistry that has applications in all corners of the life sciences and fine chemical sectors.
They are seeking a Quality Control Analyst to join their QC team which currently has 7 members. The role will be working on method development and analysis from raw materials through to intermediates, and finished products.
What you'll do:
- As a QC Analyst, you will work in a team on projects and report into the Head of Quality. You will be an essential part of the GMP manufacturing QC process, with responsibilities across the following areas:
- Analytical Testing: Performing routine analysis on a diverse range of materials using a suite of high-end instrumentation including HPLC, GC, UV-Vis, FTIR, and NMR, alongside traditional wet chemical analysis.
- Method Development & Validation: Assisting in the development and implementation of analytical methods in strict accordance with ICH and pharmacopoeial requirements.
- Data Integrity & Interpretation: Maintaining a high level of attention to detail and an 'inquisitive eye' to analyse results, ensuring all data is presented clearly to staff and management.
- Equipment Care: Supporting the maintenance and qualification of laboratory equipment to keep the facility running at peak performance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Working daily within a GMP environment, ensuring all activities align with health & safety protocols and rigorous quality risk assessments.
- Problem Solving: Helping to troubleshoot complex analytical challenges as they arise.
Your background:
- We are seeking experience of analytical chemistry and experience of working in a regulated laboratory setting. Naturally a strong eye for detail and the ability to manage the demands of multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong teamworking is also important as the QC team works as one on projects.
- Educated to BSc, MSc, MChem, or HND/HNC in a relevant chemical field.
- We are seeking experience working in an analytical testing environment, specifically method development skills are important. Practical knowledge of HPLC and GC is essential, as is a sound understanding of method validation.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) and a proactive, collaborative approach to teamwork.
- You must have the existing right to work in the UK.
