About the team
You'lljoin LHV Bank's Retail Banking team, a cross-functional group of i OS, Android and Backend engineers working alongside Product and Design to build the app customers use to manage their money: accounts, cards, payments, savings, deposits, and onboarding/KYC.
The Android codebase is modular and Kotlin-first, organised into independent core and feature modules.
About the role
We'rehiring a Senior Android Engineer to take a leading technical role on the app.
You'llown meaningful feature areas end to end, raise the bar on code quality and architecture, and mentor engineers across the team.
You'llwork closely with product, design, and backend engineering to ship features that are secure, fast, and genuinely good to use.
There'salso theoptionto contribute to our Kotlin backend-for-frontend (BFF), for engineers who want exposure across the stack.
- What you'll work on
- Design, build, and maintain features across our Android app, from UI in Compose through to networking and data layers.
- Drive architectural decisions for the modules you own and write or review ADRs for significant changes.
- Improve app performance, stability, and startup/runtime metrics . Use best practices in observability to investigate and resolve production issues.
- Review code and mentor other engineers, with particular focus on architecture, testing, and Compose best practices.
- Contribute to the CI/CD pipeline, build tooling, and test strategy (unit, screenshot, and instrumented tests).
- Work directly with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to shape features from spec to release.
- Optionally pick up work on our Kotlin BFF, if you want to build depth on the backend side too.

What we're looking for
- Significant production Android experience, with strong, hands‑on Kotlin skills.
- Solid experience with Jetpack Compose and modern declarative UI patterns.
- Comfort with coroutines/Flow for asynchronous and reactive code.
- Experience with a DI framework and modular app architecture (MVVM/MVI).
- Experience connecting Android apps to backend services via REST/networking libraries ( Ktor , Retrofit, or similar).
- A track record of writing tested, maintainable code, and reviewing others' code constructively.
- Awareness of mobile security best practices, given we're a regulated bank handling financial data.
- Strong communication skills and comfort working directly with product and design.

- Experience in fintech, banking, or another regulated industry.
- Experience with screenshot/visual regression testing.
- Familiarity with using AI coding assistants (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.) as part of a professional workflow.
