LHV Bank Limited is a UK-licensed bank operating across three core business segments: Retail Banking, SME Lending, and Banking Services (BaaS). The bank supports over 200 fintech clients with embedded financial infrastructure, provides retail savings products via digital channels, and offers SME credit solutions in the UK. We are currently seeking an experienced Lending Manager to join the Relationship Management Team in London. The role will support end-to-end lending processes from onboarding through to loan completion. This is an office-based role that requires you to be in the London office 2-3 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Develop and promote LHV’s reputation as an active, creative lender in the SME market.
- Support the delivery of strategic objectives including income, customer advocacy, and risk metrics.
- Retain clients by handling day-to-day enquiries with a strong commercial approach to the portfolio.
- Drive the lending pipeline in a timely and effective manner, working collaboratively with the wider pod team.
- Maintain a solid primary relationship with LHV’s solicitors and collaborate to deliver for customers.
- Support prospective customers with the LHV onboarding process, including capturing KYB and KYC information.
- Assist in writing detailed credit reports (including financial analysis) on complex cases to develop appropriate solutions and establish a strong working relationship with the Credit team.
- Monitor account portfolios, manage credit risks, and address any irregular performance in line with Credit policy.
- Attract, develop, and maintain strong customer relationships to drive continuous improvement and long-lasting partnerships.
- Manage the pipeline and diary, ensuring a smooth customer journey with effective communication.
- Ensure regulatory and risk adherence at all times to deliver positive customer outcomes.
Required Skills
- Proven relationship management or support experience within a Business/Commercial Bank environment.
- Banking qualification ACIB or equivalent (desirable).
- Experience working with Brokers and other Intermediaries with access to SMEs.
- Knowledge of either Trading Business lending or Real Estate lending.
- Extensive credit report writing skills and experience.
- Commercial awareness of external market conditions and the requirements of working within an SME organisation.
- Advanced Microsoft skills – PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
