Lhoist is a globally renowned minerals manufacturing company, headquartered in Belgium, with multiple sites across the UK. We are deeply committed to the communities we operate from and are actively transitioning towards a low carbon future to ensure sustainability.
We are looking for a shift Electrician at our Whitwell plant (nr Workshop). The role will work on a pattern of 4 x 12 hour day shifts, followed by 4 days of rest. This will include weekends and bank holidays.
Core Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3or equivalent in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS 7671)
- Apprenticeship-trainedin electrical engineering (preferred)
Technical Skills
- Electrical fault finding and diagnostics
- Motor controls and drives (VFDs, soft starters)
- PLC knowledge (Mitsubishi)
- SCADA knowledge (Wonderware)
- Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- Preventive and reactive maintenance of electrical systems
- Installation and commissioning of electrical equipment
- Basic mechanical understanding
- Experience of working with CMMS (Computerised Maintenance Management Systems)
- Familiarity with industrial automation and control systems
- Experience in hazardous area equipment (ATEX)
Soft Skills & Attributes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Attention to detail and safety awareness
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and on-call rota
