Responsibilities & Expectations:
- Heavy Equipment Operation: Safely operate mobile equipment (wheel loader, haul trucks, water truck, skid steer, backhoe, drill). Operate the primary crusher, including the rock breaker. Perform pre-shift inspections on vehicles and submit reports to the plant operator. Fuel equipment as needed and properly log all fuel used. Report any issues found during pre-shift inspections. Perform other heavy equipment operation duties as assigned.
- Plant Utility: Perform plant clean-up tasks (sweeping, shoveling, manual labor as needed). Assist with shipping/loading as required. Conduct equipment inspections and notify production and maintenance of any issues. Perform other plant utility responsibilities as assigned.
- Environmental, Health, and Safety: Follow all safety policies and procedures and attend scheduled safety meetings. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Promote safety among co-workers using Behavioral Based Safety (BBS). Perform all work in a neat and orderly manner, adhering to company and governmental safety rules and regulations. Participate in the facility's Safe Food initiative, Safe Quality Feed (SQF), based on FSMA and Current Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Quality Control: Follow directions and dump mined ore in designated locations as directed. Report any deviations that might impact product quality or processing efficiencies. Weigh trucks and properly log the weight of material hauled as required. Abide by SFSF guidelines and regulations.
- General Duties: Successfully complete an ATF background check. Competently operate all HME equipment (loaders, haul trucks, motor grader, dozer, crusher, water truck, etc.). Perform Blaster assistant duties as needed. Have basic knowledge of 12/24-volt electrical circuits. Perform proper preventative maintenance on equipment (grease, lube, check fluids, air pressure, etc.). Contribute to FSMA and SQF initiatives. Actively participate in Behavior Based Safety Observations (BBS) and other Corporate Safety Initiatives. Maintain a clean disciplinary record for one year.
