We are seeking an experienced SAP Project Systems (PS) Functional Analyst to support the delivery, optimisation, and ongoing enhancement of SAP PS capabilities within an enterprise environment. This role will act as a key functional link between Finance, Project Controls, and SAP delivery teams, ensuring that project financial processes, cost management, reporting, and system integrations operate effectively across the organisation.

Working within an Agile delivery environment, you will play a critical role in stabilising existing SAP PS functionality, driving continuous improvement, supporting system integrations, and ensuring alignment between SAP PS, SAP Finance/Controlling, and external planning or project management tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Functional Ownership & Business Alignment
    • Act as the functional interface between Finance and SAP Project Systems, ensuring alignment across project accounting, financial reporting, and project governance processes.
    • Engage with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into functional SAP PS solutions.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and optimisation across SAP PS and related financial processes.
  • SAP PS Configuration & Enhancement
    • Support the design, configuration, and optimisation of SAP PS including:
      • Project structures and project profiles
      • Work Breakdown Structures (WBS)
      • Budgeting and forecasting processes
      • Settlement rules and processing
      • Project reporting and cost analysis
    • Ensure SAP PS configuration is aligned with agreed enterprise standards and architectural principles.
  • Integration & Enterprise Systems Support
    • Support integration between SAP PS and SAP FI/CO, ensuring accurate and controlled financial data flows.
    • Contribute to the assessment and impact analysis of enterprise systems (such as Oracle EPM) on SAP Finance and project investment planning processes.
    • Support business and architecture decisions relating to project cost management tools (e.g. Dassian) and how they interact with SAP.
  • Testing, Governance & Delivery
    • Support SIT and UAT activities, including test planning, defect resolution, data validation, and reconciliation across integrated systems.
    • Produce high-quality documentation required for governance, change approvals, and solution assurance.
    • Work closely with product owners, architects, and delivery teams to support sprint planning, refinement, demos, and continuous improvement activity.
  • Application Support & Lifecycle Management
    • Support ongoing application lifecycle activities including incident resolution, upgrades, patching, and enhancement delivery.
    • Contribute to stabilisation efforts and proactive system improvement initiatives.
Skills & Experience (Essential)
  • Strong functional experience working with SAP Project Systems (PS).
  • Proven experience supporting project structures, WBS standards, budgeting, settlement, and cost reporting.
  • Strong understanding of SAP PS integration with SAP Finance and Controlling (FI/CO).
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level integrations and project financial reporting flows.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to work across Finance, IT, and project teams.
  • Experience working within an Agile delivery environment.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or other enterprise project controls tools.
  • Familiarity with Oracle EPM or enterprise financial planning solutions.
  • Exposure to project cost management tools such as Dassian.
