LHH Recruitment Solutions are currently supporting a well-established, fast-growing organisation in the recruitment of a Financial Accountant on a permanent basis. This is a high-impact position supporting the Finance Director, ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and enjoys turning complex data into accurate, meaningful financial insight. The role is hands-on, with significant responsibility across month-end, financial accounting, and reporting, and will play a key part in maintaining data integrity while contributing to the ongoing development and sophistication of the finance function.

A strong emphasis is placed on advanced Excel capability, and the successful candidate will demonstrate proven expertise at a high level. You will utilise Excel to drive process improvements and efficiencies, with the opportunity to work closely with the Finance Director on the implementation of new technologies, including AI-driven solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and deliver month-end processes across the business and its subsidiaries
  • Perform full balance sheet reconciliations
  • Manage bank, invoice discounting, and postage reconciliations
  • Prepare and post monthly journals, including accruals and prepayments
  • Maintain and post fixed asset accounting entries
  • Manage customer and supplier rebate accruals, including reporting and analysis
  • Prepare and submit VAT returns
  • Deliver statutory and regulatory reporting (e.g. ESG, National Statistics)
  • Support the Finance Director in strengthening financial controls and governance
  • Contribute to the modernisation of finance systems and reporting capabilities

Advanced Excel skills – you must be genuinely highly proficient. Proven ability to handle high volumes of data quickly and accurately. Experience in financial accounting and reporting environments. Comfortable working in a detail-heavy, process-driven role. Experience improving financial processes, controls, or reporting frameworks. Qualified Accountants (ACA, ACCA or CIMA), also Qualified by Experience (QBE’s).
