A growing, forward-thinking accountancy practice is on the lookout for an Accounts Assistant Manager to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) who enjoys variety, client contact, and taking ownership of assignments from end to end.
This is a modern accountancy and advisory practice known for supporting entrepreneurial businesses and private individuals across a multitude of client industries including mixed corporates, creative, international, and charity clients. As an Accounts Assistant Manager, you will support the delivery of accounting and advisory services to a diverse client portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements for companies, groups, partnerships, and other entities
- Managing and reviewing year-end working paper files
- Supervising, mentoring, and training junior staff
- Supporting senior leaders on bespoke advisory projects, including elements of corporate finance
- Taking ownership of assignments from planning through to final reporting
- Managing relationships with a small client portfolio, with scope to grow this over time
- Performing variance analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
- Assisting auditors with year-end queries
- Ensuring high-quality, accurate work with meticulous attention to detail
- Contributing to improvements in processes, team operations, and wider firm initiatives
- Staying up to date with accounting, auditing, and compliance developments
Qualifications & Experience:
- Fully ACCA or ACA qualified (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in an accountancy practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (FRS / IFRS)
- An interest in corporate finance and business advisory work
- Experience preparing consolidated accounts and/or charity accounts (desirable)
- Familiarity with cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, CCH) is beneficial
- Strong Excel and IT skills
